Starting a blog is easy and it takes less than 5 minutes to get you going on your own website / investment diary. In this post, you will learn how you can become a better investor by having a public diary, and you will also learn how to create a public diary in less than 5 minutes. Let’s start making you a better investor right now!

Focus

Starting a blog has been of my best decisions. Before, I could just do whatever I wanted, push the sell button, the buy button and the only one I needed to answer to was me. Now that I have followers who read my thoughts and my actions, I need to behave in a totally different manner.

The power of having to explain your behavior to others is tremendous.

I urge you to find someone who follows your progress. It doesn’t matter if it’s your mom, friends or even anonymous people on the internet. As long as you have someone watching you, your focus will increase substantially, and a blog is a perfect way to find that someone.

Community

The dividend income community is so welcoming, warm and kind. Everybody looks after each other by commenting, watching and following the progress of each individual. While I might be lazy at commenting from time to time, I follow my friends, and they follow me. Another reason for why you start blogging!

Transparency

Having to show your portfolio and your dividend income makes everything more serious. You can’t fool around because it’s embarrassing to make foolish mistakes that you can’t explain.

Honesty

Honesty is often neglected in the finance world, but your ego is often your worst enemy.

By having a blog, you can challenge your perception and actually put thoughts into words. And guess what? Nobody judges you!

We all have period where we feel like changing our strategy, just going for what’s popular, or just quitting the whole investment thing.

Honesty is especially important when you do mistakes, because the only way to learn by your mistakes is to reflect on your behavior and evolve.

Passive Income

While blogging won’t make me rich, I’m getting a small passive income. While it’s not much, it’s enough to cover the server fee which means this whole blog thing is only positive.

Just look how inconsistent I was before I stated blogging in 2018. I promise, it really changed me.

Now, let’s figure out how you can start your own blog!
